All the Info You Need on How to Apply for Grants

Fall Grant Applications Due Sept. 8

ECS-NJ Executive Director the Rev. Trisha Thorme, Deacon, presents a workshop on best practices for nonprofits applying for grants, with an emphasis on requirements for ECS grants.

Looking for funds for a new or expanded ministry at your church that meets immediate human needs or addresses structural injustice? The ECS-NJ Fall 2023 Grant Application is open! ECS-NJ grants are designed to expand existing charity and justice ministries of congregations in the Diocese and make new ones possible.

ECS-NJ is committed to helping churches in our diocese write compelling and successful grant proposals. To that end a sample application is available below, and individual consultations on ideas or complete draft proposals are available.

You are encouraged to review the guidelines & application and apply! Complete applications (in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole) are due by Sept. 8.

Proposed projects should address one or more of the following objectives:

    • To meet human need in underserved and marginalized communities, especially communities of color
    • To engage, collaborate, and partner with other organizations, including faith-based, secular, community, governmental, etc.
    • To encourage advocacy for issues relating to social justice, including spearheading new advocacy efforts
