Empowering Recovery: St. Michael’s Path to a Self-Sustaining Community Bookstore
St. Michael’s in Trenton is taking its impactful ministry to new heights with The 12 Steps & More Bookstore for Mental & Spiritual Health. Thanks to its first ECS-NJ grant in Fall 2021, St. Michael’s forged strong alliances with over 17 community and governmental organizations, laying a solid foundation for meaningful change. Now, in this exciting second phase, the goal is to make the bookstore self-sustaining by cultivating a dedicated team of volunteers deeply connected to the recovery and mental health communities. These volunteers will help run the bookstore while also working to secure sustainable funding for its future. We are deeply inspired by St. Michael’s unwavering commitment to a community often overlooked, and we are moved by the way the recovery community is at the heart of this initiative, honoring their dignity while building a brighter future.
