ECS-NJ Names Rev. Dr. Carolyn Bradley, Dcn as Co-Chair of the ECS-NJ Advisory Council.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Rev. Dr. Carolyn Bradley, Dcn as Co-Chair of the ECS-NJ Advisory Council. Rev. Bradley brings a deep passion for service and a steadfast commitment to our mission of transforming lives through compassion and justice. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Rev. Dave Snyder for his dedicated leadership and guidance during his time as Co-Chair. While Fr. Dave transitions from this role, we are pleased that he will continue to serve with ECS-NJ through various committees, sharing his insight and experience as we continue our important work together.
The Rev. Dr. Carolyn Bradley, Dcn was ordained to the vocational diaconate in 2015. Since that time she has served at Trinity Episcopal Church, Asbury Park from 5/2015 to 5/2024 At Trinity, Dcn Carolyn was the Director of Pastoral Care and Adult Formation and coordinated the parish’s LGBTQ+ committee. In June, 2025, Dcn Carolyn began serving as the deacon at Christ Church, Toms River where she continues providing adult formation programs, teaches confirmation classes,
provides formation activities for the Eucharistic Visitors and co-facilitates a monthly LGBTQ+ adult discussion group. At the Diocesan level, she currently serves on the Advisory Council and gala Planning Committee for Episcopal Community Services and the LGBTQ+ Commission. She has served on the Deacons’ Council, and on the Ministry with Older Adults Committee, the Pastoral Response Team and as a Safe Church Trainer.
Dr. Bradley has a MSW and PhD from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service, NYC. She has been a professional social worker for 40+ years working in a variety of clinical practice settings and in education. Most recently, Dr. Bradley was an Associate Professor and MSW Director for the School of Social Work at Monmouth University. She retired from Monmouth in 2019.
Dcn Carolyn lives in Brick with her wife, Mickey, and their terrier, Maeve. Mickey and Carolyn were married in 2013 at Trinity Church, Asbury Park. They have been together for 35 years.
